A student who follows Jesus at school. That's it pure and simple.
WHY SHOULD I BE A CAMPUS MISSIONARY?
The most effective way to communicate the love of Jesus Christ is the most basic: PERSON to PERSON. If God calls missionaries to all seven continents, why wouldn’t He call students to the greatest mission field in America - the school campus? He is! And He's calling YOU!

Students reaching students is what youth ministry is all about. Empowering students to become Campus Missionaries helps them accept personal responsibility to reach the lost of their generation. By making Campus Missions a priority, students can live out their faith today and develop an ownership of their beliefs that will last a lifetime. In addition, CM's commit to consistment meetings with their coaches and completing monthly reports. Campus Missions is PROMOTED nationally, but ORGANIZED locally. CM's is a tool that youth leaders can use to disciple their students and reach the lost in their community. Though promoted on a National and District level, CM's is ultimately run on the local level. Coaches are key to the CM strategy. They provide wisdom, accountability, encouragement and challenges that will help students grow. An effective campus missionary needs regular prayer, encouragement, motivation, management, and training by a Campus Missionary Coach. The national YOUTH ALIVE site is PACKED with free resources for Campus Missionaries and their coaches. In addition, students and leaders will benefit from purchasing a CM Digisource that is filled with tools and tips. Every fall, North Dakota CM's participate in a significant commissing service on the Saturday morning of Youth Convention. To participate in this service, students must have made the CM commitment for the respective school year, as well as be actively living the CM commitments and completing monthly reports. 1. Review the Commitment and Make Your Decision This profile is necessary for you to complete monthly reports. Your report will automatically be sent to your coach. Be SURE to write down your username/password - you will need them every month to complete your report! To sign up, you will need your church information, including phone number, as well as your coach's name and email address. BE SURE to check "YES" to allow NYM to share your info with districts - otherwise you won't be signed up as a North Dakota CM!WHY CAMPUS MISSIONS IN OUR CHURCH?

HOW IS CAMPUS MISSIONS ORGANIZED IN ND?
Beyond the basic commitments, Youth Leaders decide how CM's is organized in their youth ministry and what role it plays in fullfilling their vision.
The National and District offices provide resources to assist Youth Leaders in implemeting the CM strategy; however, outside of monthly reports submitted at the National site, the National and District offices have no role in tracking or organizing local CM groups.

Depending on the structure of youth ministry in your church, coaches can be youth pastors, volunteer youth leaders or even parents.WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE CM COACH?
The Campus Missionary Coach makes five vital commitments to each Campus Missionary:
1) PRAY: The CM coach prays regularly for his/her Campus Missionaries.
2) ENCOURAGE: The CM coach faithfully supports and encourages his/her Campus Missionary in word and deed.
3) MOTIVATE: The CM coach regularly communicates messages and provides incentives that help his/her Campus Missionary fulfill their commitment.
4) MANAGE: The CM coach provides the accountability each Campus Missionary needs through monthly CM reports and meetings. The CM Coach assumes responsibility to keep accurate records of his/her CM's monthly reports.
5) TRAIN: The CM coach provides individual and group training events/activities to empower and grow the Campus Missionary.WHERE CAN COACHES AND STUDENTS FIND RESOURCES?
Also, the fall MOMENTUM YOUTH LEADER TRAINING DAYS in North Dakota will help equip youth leaders and coaches with implementing the CM strategy.HOW DOES A CM GET COMMISSIONED AT YOUTH CONVENTION?
NDYM trusts the decision of the local youth leaders in regards to who will participate. Youth leaders MUST notify the DYD by October 1 with the names of students who will be participating in the commissioning service.HOW DO I BECOME A CAMPUS MISSIONARY?
Campus Missions will provide you with amazing opportunities for leadership, growth, and adventure. CM's will inject you with passion and purpose!
Please don't take this decision lightly. CM's is only for students who are: committed to growth, willing to change, ready to sacrifice, and desire to reach to this generation for Christ.

Every CM needs a coach. The wisdom of a coach will help you accomplish your goals by providing insight, encouragement and accountability. Depending on the structure of your youth ministry, your coach may be a youth pastor, volunteer youth leader or even a parent.
